Hey there, I am Michelle Hancock from Mind of Meesh.
In between juggling a toddler, a teen stepson, an IT Genius husband and a crazy Labradoodle, I also work full-time in event planning for Downtown McKinney, a charming historic district in the heart of McKinney, TX.
Here are a few of my favorite things:
Being a Mom, Wife, Step-mom, and Pet Owner: The day I started wearing all these hats was the day I became whole and my heart grew a little larger. Cheesy, I know, but I absolutely love being a mom. I am far from the ‘perfect parent’ and I love to share the highs and lows of parenting, blended families, and marriage with my audience. Check out a few of my parenting moments:
Event Planning: I am grateful to have a full-time job planning special events for a city municipality. I have over 10 years of event planning experience ranging from producing smaller community events to large scale festivals. I know how to stack chairs and set up tables like a pro. Find my event planning posts here.
Crafting: I love to craft when I get a spare moment (which can be tough with a toddler running around). My favorite craft posts are Baby Cupcake Onesies, Diaper Cake Basket and One Year Anniversary Gift.
Writing: I started a newspaper in 5th grade (that eventually got shut down by the principal), wrote for the High School Yearbook, graduated college with a Journalism Degree, and I have copious amounts of journals hidden away. I guess you could say writing has always been in my blood, so blogging is more than a hobby for me – it’s a passion and slightly an addiction. My writing has been featured here. One day I will publish a book, but about what seems to be the looming question.
Meet My Family
We are a blended family and live in a classic suburban Texas area filled with soccer moms, strollers and the best 30K millionaires you can find in the area. We are all born and raised Texans and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Meet the Hubs
My husband is the love of my life and is an IT Genius/Geek. If you got a computer problem, he can most likely fix it and that is one of the zillion reasons that I married him. Hello, IT support is expensive these days! ha ha He is the laid back, calm one in our family. We make a good team because I can be intense, not patient, and impulsive at times. It’s a good balance. He is also a handy man. Check out his DIY home projects: Fence Window for your Pets and Pegboard Gun Holder.
Reese is now a toddler and such a joy! This girl never stops and her energy is always high. We love her spunk and I try to get in as much snuggles and kisses. She loves to dance, wave, and say “No” when she really means “Yes”. Get to know Reese through these popular posts: Toddler Life and My Toddler Can turn Trash into Treasure.
Our 3 year old Labradoodle always makes life interesting. He has killed over 5 dog beds, chewed up a grill, ate dryer sheets, mascara and still lives to bark about it. Whether he is tearing up something in our backyard or chowing down on his food in 2 seconds, we love him and all of his craziness! Read about all of his adventures and a few what was he thinking moments here and here.
The best way to connect with me is by commenting on my blog posts and through email. I try my very best to respond, but let’s be honest with a full time job and toddler it can take me awhile, but I am obsessed with this blog so I will most likely respond ASAP. By commenting, you show you care, which motivates me to write more and write better.
